SUPPORTED PROGRAMS
Aung Orphanage School
Founded in 1994, Aung Orphanage School has been a pillar of education and community support in one of Yangon’s most disadvantaged areas.
For more than 30 years, the school has provided accessible, high-quality learning while fostering discipline, compassion, and personal development for children from all backgrounds.
Today, the school serves 966 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, supported by a dedicated team of 29 teachers committed to helping every child reach their full potential. Beyond the classroom, the school also provides care and guidance for 67 resident orphans, as well as a community of 42 novice monks and 18 nuns, creating a nurturing environment built on respect, responsibility, and service.
With student enrolment continuing to grow, exciting expansion plans are underway.
Supported by the Sir Mahesh Patel Family Foundation, new classrooms and major facility developments are planned to accommodate increasing demand and enable the future introduction of Grades 9 to 12. These improvements will create greater opportunities for education and personal growth for children in the surrounding community.
As Aung Orphanage School looks to the future, it remains committed to its mission: providing quality education, caring for vulnerable young people, and helping shape confident, capable, and compassionate leaders for generations to come.
